Yin is a slow-paced style of hatha yoga with asana that are held for longer periods of time. According to Yin Master Bernie Clark:"Yin Yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other school of yoga; however, it directs the stimulation normally created in the asana portion of the practice". Focusing on long-held floor poses combined with breath work and concentration, yin practice goes beneath the superficial muscles to target the dense connective tissues of the body, the hips, pelvis, and low back which are difficult to open and can result in both limited flexibility and stagnant energy. This deep practice is gentle, yet intense, helping students not only to open the body, but also to cultivate the ability to observe and stay with sensation.

Yoga for Scoliosis and the Spine
This class will breakdown the traditional asanas and breath to develop a structural alignment, creating a more normal symmetrical alignment. This is accomplished by use of props, stretching muscles that have tightened and strengthening muscles that have become weak from this asymmetrical imbalance. Thereby the body will create a more effortless posture using the bone structure, rather than over working the muscles to hold itself up. Helpful in eliminating pain and bring some balance to the spine. +
